Great questions. We wondered that too.
When we set out to create a waterbirth pool as gentle on the earth as it is on mothers and babies, we searched everywhere. Nothing was quite right.
Until we found a movement on a mission - Bio-Tec who produce Eco-Pure®.
We’re thrilled to partner with them on our Evia pools.
What does it do?
Eco-Pure® is a clever little enzyme that helps nature do what it does best - break things down. It attracts microbes to the plastic in oxygen-free, microbe-rich places like landfills and soil. What used to take centuries now takes just years. (Don’t worry, it won’t start biodegrading during your birth or in your storage cupboard!)
Made from natural nutrients that microbes already love, Eco-Pure® simply makes plastic look like food. Once the pool is used, recycled, and eventually discarded, the microbes eat it all up, leaving behind compost and biogas.
After it breaks down?
Only good stuff remains: organic compost and clean biogas. No toxins, no microplastics, just earth, renewed.
